Gurdwara Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib is a prominent Gurudwara in Chandigarh, dedicated
to the 9th Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib. It is located in Sector 34-A
and is considered one of the holiest places in the city. Construction of the Gurudwara
started in the early 1970s and was completed in 1976.

The foundation stone was laid by the then Prime Minister of India, Smt. Indira
Gandhi. The Gurudwara was built to commemorate the visit of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur
Sahib to this region during his travels in the 17th century.

The Gurudwara celebrates all the major Sikh festivals with great enthusiasm and
devotion. The Gurpurab of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib is celebrated with a Nagar
Kirtan, a religious procession that passes through various parts of the city. The
Gurudwara also organizes langar, a community meal, on a regular basis.

Paatshahi Sri Nada Sahib is a Gurudwara located within the city of Panchkula, which
is adjacent to Chandigarh. It is dedicated to the 10th Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Gobind
Singh Ji, who visited this place during his travels in the 17th century.

**Google rating: 4.9★ (28,702 Google reviews)** — one of the highest-rated gurudwaras
in the tricity, with free food and lodging available 24×7 for devotees.

Guru Gobind Singh halted here while travelling from Paonta Sahib to Anandpur Sahib
after the Battle of Bhangani in 1688. Nobody knows when the first shrine was raised;
a villager, Bhai Motha Singh, found the spot and built a platform in memory of the
visit. The name “Nada Sahib” is derived from the nearby village of Nada, where the
Gurudwara is located. The village was also known as “Chota Anandpur” or “Little
Anandpur” due to the presence of the Gurudwara.

The Gurudwara has a stunning white marble structure with a golden dome, visible
from a distance. The main prayer hall is decorated with intricate carvings and artwork
depicting the life and teachings of the Sikh Gurus. The Gurudwara also has a sarovar,
which is considered holy and believed to have healing properties.

[Gurudwara Sri Amb Sahib](https://sasnagar.nic.in/tourist-place/gurdwara-shri-amb-sahib/)
is a prominent Sikh shrine placed in the Mohali district of Punjab, which is located
close to Chandigarh. According to the SAS Nagar district website, the Seventh Guru,
Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji, visited this place to fulfil the wish of his devotee.

halls topped by white and gold domes.

![Gurudwara Nabha Sahib](https://chdlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Gurudwara-

Gurudwara Nabha Sahib is a historic Sikh shrine located in Village Nabha Sahib,
near Zirakpur on the Patiala road, adjacent to Chandigarh.

One of the main highlights of Gurudwara Nabha Sahib is its large sarovar (sacred
pool) where devotees can take a dip and offer their prayers. The Gurudwara also
offers langar, a free community meal, to all visitors regardless of their caste,
creed, or faith.

The Gurudwara is open to visitors each day, and special celebrations are held on
important Sikh festivals including Gurpurab and Vaisakhi.

### Gurudwara Bouli Sahib

![Gurudwara Bouli Sahib](https://chdlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Gurudwara-
Bouli-Sahib.webp "Best Gurudwara in Chandigarh: Where Spirituality Meets Serenity

Gurudwara Bouli Sahib is a respected Sikh shrine located near Chandigarh, in the
northern Indian state of Punjab. This Gurudwara is situated in the village of Sohana,
near Mohali, and is dedicated to the memory of Guru Hargobind Sahib, the 6th Sikh
Guru. **Note: this location and dedication are not fully confirmed.** Wikipedia’s
article on Zirakpur instead lists a “Gurudwara Baoli Saheb Patshahi 10th” at Dhakoli,
Zirakpur, and a “Gurudwara Bouli Sahib” in Zirakpur Sector 6, pointing to the Tenth
Guru and to Zirakpur rather than Sohana. We have not been able to confirm with the
gurdwara itself which account is correct — treat the details below as unverified
until confirmed.

According to legend, Guru Hargobind Sahib visited this area during his travels and
blessed the site by digging a well, which still exists inside the Gurudwara complex.
The water is believed to have healing properties and is considered sacred by devotees.

The Gurudwara is designed in the traditional Sikh architectural style, with a white
facade and a dome made of 24-karat gold. The complex has a spacious prayer hall
where devotees gather to offer their prayers and seek blessings. The Gurudwara also
has a langar hall, where free food is served to all visitors regardless of their
caste or faith.

## Gurdwara Sri Amb Sahib, Mohali: the mango story

_Full guide: [Gurdwara Sri Amb Sahib, Mohali](https://chdlife.com/gurdwara-amb-sahib-mohali/)_

The SAS Nagar district website links Amb Sahib to the Seventh Guru, Guru Har Rai
Sahib Ji. Its account starts at Amritsar, where Bhai Kuram of village Lambia went
to pay homage to Guru Arjan Dev Ji. Guru Arjan Dev Ji said they would have mangoes
in his seventh life span.

Guru Har Rai came from Kurukshetra in mid-December and asked Bhai Kuram for mangoes.
It was not the season, but when Bhai Kuram looked up the tree above the Guru was
full of fruit. Wikipedia describes Bhai Kuram as a Labana trader and orchard owner.

Wikipedia says Sector 62 of Mohali is commonly known as Phase 8 and that Amb Sahib
is in that sector. Mohali’s only bus stand is in the same sector. Nearby, Gurdwara
Angitha Sahib, the shrine of Sant Isher Singh, is in the same sector. Wikipedia
says Amb Sahib is managed by the SGPC.

Mohali itself is officially Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, named in memory of Sahibzada
Ajit Singh. He was born at Paonta Sahib on 11 February 1687, so his birth is not
linked to this shrine.

## Nada Sahib: history and the monthly gathering

Nada Sahib is in Panchkula, on the bank of the Ghaggar in the Sivalik foothills.
Guru Gobind Singh halted here on the way from Paonta Sahib to Anandpur Sahib after
the Battle of Bhangani in 1688.

The site stayed obscure until a nearby villager, Bhai Motha Singh, found it and
raised a platform in memory of the visit. Wikipedia says the date of that first
shrine is not known. The present complex has a two-storey domed building and a large
rectangular meeting hall. A holy flag flies from a 105-foot staff near the site
of the old shrine.

Religious gatherings and community meals happen every day, and the full-moon day
each month draws a large gathering.

## Getting to Nada Sahib

The Panchkula district website gives 8 km from Chandigarh Railway Station and 6
km from Panchkula Bus Stand. Confirm the exact road and parking on Google Maps before
you go.

## Visiting a gurdwara: what to know

Gurdwaras are open to all people, whatever their religion, and are generally open
all hours of a day. The Sikh Rehat Maryada says shoes must be removed, the head
covered and respectful clothing worn, and that no tobacco or other intoxicants may
be carried in. Langar meals are always lacto-vegetarian. Photography rules, parking
and timings are set by each gurdwara, and none of the official pages publish them,
so follow the signs at the entrance and ask the sevadars.

Guru Nanak’s birthday, on 24 November 2026, is the busiest date of the year; see
the [Gurpurab guide](https://chdlife.com/gurpurab/) for the date and what to expect.
