Google Maps lists it as a wedding venue with a wheelchair-accessible car park and entrance, and reviews describe it also being used as a guest house for visiting families, with rooms and food available. It has no official website or verified social media page that we could find, so the facts here are limited to what Google Maps and the Chandigarh Estate Office publish. The Estate Office’s own record of reserve and open land in Sector 24 names an open ground directly “in front of Gujarat Bhavan,” alongside two other grounds in the sector. This is a land-use listing, not an events calendar, but it explains why the space in front of the Bhavan is where a community gathering would be held. ## Garba and Dandiya at Gujarat Bhavan Google Maps visitor updates and reviews describe a community Garba organised at Gujarat Bhavan during Sharadiya Navratri in past years — one recent update calls it the venue’s best-known event of the year; older reviews (some several years old) describe it as free to take part in, open to all, running across the Navratri period, with food served, and getting very crowded, with a suggestion to arrive early. ** These are visitor accounts, not an official notice**, and we have not confirmed a 2026 date, timing, entry rule or parking arrangement. Ring the number above or check nearer the date. Gujarat Bhavan is one of the venues named for Garba and Dandiya across the city; for other options and their status, see our full [Dandiya & Garba Nights in Chandigarh](https://chdlife.com/dandiya-garba-nights-chandigarh/) guide. ## Garba vs Dandiya: what is the difference? Garba is a circle dance performed during Navratri, traditionally danced around an earthen lamp or a form of the goddess Durga; the name comes from a Sanskrit word connected to a womb-shaped lamp pot. Dandiya Raas is a related folk dance from Gujarat( and Marwar in Rajasthan) in which dancers strike short sticks, called dandiya, in pairs, usually in two facing lines, to an eight-beat rhythm. Today the two are often combined at the same event, which is why venues commonly advertise “Garba” and “ Dandiya” together.
