In a significant move aimed at enhancing citizen services and modernizing infrastructure, the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh has announced plans to revamp all 41 Sehaj Safai Kendras into Sehaj Suvidha Kendras. This transformation signals a strategic shift towards providing a wider range of facilities and amenities to residents across the city.

The decision, which comes after extensive deliberation and consultation, reflects the municipality’s commitment to improving efficiency and accessibility in service delivery. By repurposing existing safai centres into multi-functional Suvidha Kendras, authorities aim to streamline operations and consolidate resources to better meet the evolving needs of the community.

Speaking on behalf of the Municipal Corporation, spokesperson Ms. Priya Sharma highlighted the rationale behind the initiative. “The transformation of Sehaj Safai Kendras into Suvidha Kendras is part of our broader vision to create more inclusive and user-friendly service hubs,” she stated. “These revamped centres will offer a comprehensive range of services, catering to diverse requirements of the residents.”

Under the revamped Suvidha Kendra model, residents can expect to access a wide array of services, including utility bill payments, issuance of certificates, grievance redressal, and information dissemination, all under one roof. The consolidation of services aims to streamline administrative processes, reduce bureaucratic hurdles, and enhance overall convenience for citizens.

With the transformation of Safai Kendras into Suvidha Kendras poised to redefine the landscape of citizen services in Chandigarh, residents can look forward to a more efficient and accessible service delivery framework that caters to their evolving needs and aspirations.
