## History of Sukhna Lake

Created in 1958 by damming the seasonal Sukhna Choe stream, the lake was conceived
as part of Le Corbusier’s master plan for Chandigarh — a place where nature and
the modern city meet. Over six decades later, it remains the green-blue heart of
the City Beautiful and the venue for festivals, regattas and the annual Mango Mela.
