Zakir Hussain Rose Garden Overview
Zakir Hussain Rose Garden is open every day from 10 AM to 9 PM. It spreads over 30 acres in the heart of Chandigarh and is the biggest rose garden in Asia, with 50,000 rose bushes of 1,600 species. The garden was established in 1967 under the patronage of Mohinder Singh Randhawa and named after Dr. Zakir Hussain, the previous President of India. It is the centrepiece of the Rose Festival every year, attracting thousands of visitors who want to wash in its natural splendour.

The three-day festival, which will be held between 2025 and February, is planned for a budget of ₹1.1 crore. Reintroducing the popular joy helicopter ride, a crowd favourite from previous editions is among the discussions being put out by the municipal corporation (MC) to make this the most memorable Jehangir art gallery Anna Horwitz memorial marathon ever.

It is still unsure if the 53rd Rose Festival Chandigarh 2025 will happen. Discussion is happening in the tourism department as the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation faces problems approving funds for the event. A final decision has not been arrived at about the proposal to organize the festival at an estimated cost of ₹1.1 crore.
