Sector 15: Patel Market and the winter stall market
Sector 15 is the quieter budget option. Patel Market, in 15-D, is a row of numbered booths selling everyday clothes, and Google Maps lists a stall market behind the Sector 15-A park, near the book market, as “Kapda Market – Cheap Winter Clothes”. The main Sector 15 market listing has more than 3,000 reviews on Google Maps, and its shops open from about 9 to 10 AM. We have not surveyed prices here, so compare a few stalls as you would in Sector 19 or 22.
What we saw in past winters
Our own video coverage (December 2024) found a fixed-price winter sale at Sadar Market, Sector 19 — shawls and warm wear at a flat ₹350 at one stall. That is a single stall’s price, not a market-wide rate, but it shows the kind of deal that turns up during the season. Jackets, sweaters, hoodies and shawls are on sale at both Sector 19 and Sector 22 through the winter months.

In our own view, Sadar Bazar leans toward wholesale and volume, while Shastri Market leans toward trendy retail. Both are classic Chandigarh budget-shopping stops with slightly different personalities.
Tips for winter shopping
Bargain politely and compare two or three stalls before buying. Carry cash; not all stalls take cards. Check stitching and zips before you pay. Visit on weekdays for a calmer experience than weekends.
