WOW Awards and Panache Mom ‘n’ Me Fashion Fiesta Mark the Tricity’s Biggest Women’s Day Celebration
Over 40 women honoured and families take to the ramp at Dbels, Panchkula
Dass and Brown Experiential Learning School (Dbels), Sector 6, MDC, Panchkula, on Sunday, 8 March, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, hosted the tricity’s biggest celebration of women and families as the inaugural WOW (Wonderful Outstanding Women) Awards Chandigarh Chapter 1.0 and Panache Mom ‘n’ Me Fashion Fiesta came together on a single stage. Presented by Dass Foundation and organised by Star Moms Club, the programme honoured over 40 women across 12 categories and saw dozens of mothers and children walk the ramp in the tricity’s first-ever mother-and-child fashion competition. More than 300 guests, including prominent figures from across the city, were in attendance.

Dr Ranjana Malik, Captain (Retd.) and wife of General (Retd.) VP Malik, the former Chief of Army Staff who led the Indian Armed Forces during the Kargil War, presided as Chief Guest. A medical graduate of Lady Hardinge Medical College and former President of the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA), Dr Malik addressed the gathering and presented awards to the recipients. Dr Shruti Shukla, Deputy Director, SCERT, Punjab, and Komal Talwar, Founder, XLSCOUT and TT Consultants, graced the occasion as Guests of Honour.
The WOW Awards, themed Women Who Build the Future, recognised women across categories spanning entrepreneurship, technology, healthcare, education, fashion, media, sustainability, arts, and sports. Special recognition awards included Woman of Substance, Game Changer of the Year, and Lifetime Achievement. The organisers built the framework deliberately to ensure that women running home-based businesses received the same platform as those leading large enterprises, and that a fitness coach or heritage preserver was valued no less than a technology founder.

Panache brought a distinctly different energy to the stage. Mothers and children walked the ramp across four categories: Ethnic Fashion Fiesta, The Corporate World, Vivah (The Bridal Walk), and Recreate The Retro. The competition was judged by a panel that included beauty pageant title holders. The segment, presented by Flyrobe Chandigarh, concluded with a fashion show accompanied by music and dance performances. RJ Vishakha of 94.3 My FM served as a special emcee for the afternoon.
The event reflects the broader institutional philosophy at Dbels, the tricity’s first Experiential Learning and Entrepreneurship K-12 school with a focus on AI and STREAM, which extends its community engagement well beyond the classroom. Through initiatives such as the Star Moms Club and Dass Foundation, the school has built an active ecosystem of parents, professionals, and community members who participate in the life of the institution.
