Chandigarh doesn’t have Gujarat or Mumbai’s scale of Dandiya circuit, but the tricity does have a Navratri season of Dandiya and Garba nights at clubs, hotels and community halls. This guide separates what we could confirm from official pages from what visitors report, and says plainly where 2026 details are still missing.

Dandiya and Garba nights with tickets on sale (2026)

Ticketed nights for Navratri 2026 are now listed. These are the ones in the tricity on District, the ticket seller, with the dates, times and starting prices shown on each listing. Most run on the weekend of 17 and 18 October. Checked 5 October 2026; more may be added closer to the festival.

Two of the organisers describe multi-day runs in their listing text: Shubharambh as 17 and 18 October, and Navrang as 17 and 18 October. Check the listing for the night you want. Age rules differ by event, and some ask for traditional dress, so read the terms before you buy.

Garba vs Dandiya: what is the difference?

Garba is a circle dance from Gujarat, danced around an earthen lamp pot or a form of the goddess Amba; its name comes from a Sanskrit word for womb, and Wikipedia says it honours Durga during Navaratri. Dandiya Raas is a related dance from Gujarat, also danced in Rajasthan’s Marwar region, in which players hold a stick in each hand and strike them in rhythm with a partner, moving in two facing lines. Modern Garba has been heavily influenced by Dandiya Raas, so the two are now often combined. Traditional dress is the kediyu for men and the chaniya choli for women.

Where to Play Dandiya in Chandigarh & Tricity

Shivalik Country Club, Panchkula

HSVP Shivalik Country Club is listed on Google Maps at Saketri Rd, Sukteri, Panchkula, Haryana 134114 (phone 073801 90888; rated 4.3 from about 680 reviews). For 2026, District lists Aao Dandiya Khele here on Saturday 17 October, 3 to 10 PM, from ₹550. HSVP’s own website carries no notice, so treat the ticket listing and its organiser as the source for entry terms.

Chandigarh Club

Chandigarh Club has run a members’ Dandiya Evening across two nights during Navratri in recent years (30 September and 1 October in 2025), with Bollywood/fusion dandiya beats, a DJ, a dance troupe, a photo booth, and dandiya sticks provided on-site. The club’s 2025 notice says dandiya sticks shall be available for members and ends with Club rules apply; guest entry is not mentioned, so ask the club office on 0172 2740144 before you plan to attend.

Gujarat Bhavan, Sector 24

Gujarat Bhavan is at Batra Cinema, 17, Dakshin Marg, Sector 24, Chandigarh 160023. Google Maps lists it as a wedding venue (phone 098963 29151; wheelchair-accessible entrance, car park and toilet), and the Chandigarh Estate Office’s list of reserve grounds names a ground “in front of gujrat bhawan” in Sector 24. Reviews and a visitor update on Google Maps describe a Garba and Dandiya night held there during Navratri in earlier years, with Gujarati food; one older review says it was free and open to all, and a more recent one says it gets very crowded, so arrive early. These are visitor comments, not announcements. We found no 2026 programme, dates, entry terms or organiser, so call before you plan around it.

Other Venues

The Piccadily Hotel, Himalaya Marg, Sector 22-B, Chandigarh, has published no Navratri or Dandiya event on its own website (checked 21 September 2026). If you hear of a hotel-hosted night there, call to confirm: +91 172 4315431 or 2707571-72. Ticketing sites such as CityWoofer, District and BookMyShow list Navratri events closer to the festival; treat those as leads and confirm the date, price and entry terms with the organiser.
