Sector 17 Plaza
Le Corbusier planned Sector 17 as the city’s main commercial and business centre, and it is still Chandigarh’s open-air answer to a mall: a vehicle-free, tree-lined plaza with fountains, big-brand showrooms, local boutiques, restaurants and three old cinemas, Neelam, Jagat and KC. Cars stay in the multilevel parking, and the plaza is a no-vending zone. The Ministry of Tourism’s Incredible India site lists it as open from 10 AM to 10:30 PM. Nexus Elante, Industrial Area
Nexus Elante opened in April 2013 and is the tricity’s biggest mall. Nexus lists more than 340 stores and 260 domestic and international brands on a 1.3-million-sq-ft campus that also holds the Hyatt Regency hotel and offices. CP67 Mall, Mohali
CP67 Mall is on the airport road in Sector 67, Mohali. It was developed by Unity Group and Homeland and lists more than 125 brands. Its anchors include Lifestyle, Home Centre, Croma, Reliance Trends, H&M and a PVR cinema, and the food line-up takes in Starbucks, Misora Kitchen & Brewery, Bira Taproom, Pizza Express, Nando’s and Punjab Grill. Mohali Walk, Sector 62
Mohali Walk in Sector 62 calls itself more than a mall. According to its website, it combines shops such as Adidas with a DMart hypermarket, a PVR cinema, gaming, a food court with outlets such as Burger Singh, Keventers, Chaayos and Haldiram’s, a Bounce Fitness gym and office space.
